“Yazuya” — A long-established company that developed the health food market in Japan

  Yazuya was established in 1975, at a time when supplements and other “health foods” were still generally unusual and could not be found in local stores. From around this time, we at Yazuya conveyed to consumers that health was a major condition for leading a full and enjoyable life, and we spread “health foods” throughout society together with this message.

  By adhering to the “mail order” approach to selling, which allows us to directly communicate with large numbers of consumers, we have researched the health and beauty concerns of customers and developed a succession of original products geared to resolving them. Together with these products, we have proposed to consumers lifestyles that incorporate health products via advertisements on TV, in newspapers and online.

As a result of these efforts, we have grown into a major company having 8.5 million customers in Japan. With many consumers saying “If you want health foods, go to Yazuya”, our degree of recognition exceeds 84%, placing us first among Japan’s representative health food brands.

Yazuya’s long-selling “Black Rice Vinegar”, which comprises vinegar packed into capsules, is a mega-hit product that has recorded cumulative sales of more than 150 million packages and is widely recognized in Japan.

  The health market in Japan today is expanding and attracting numerous new entrants. We continue to develop new products and launch hit products through the power of marketing, which we have nurtured over 45 years since founding. 

  In recent times, “Garlic with Yolk WILD”, our supplement comprising garlic and maca for building a strong physique, has recorded sales of 2,340,000 packages in just roughly  four years since launch.
